Alocasia Yucatan Princess
This week we put the Alocasia Yucatan Princess in the spotlight. The plant is also known as Elephant Ear and stands out because of its beautiful dark green leaves with shades of red and white. It originates from Southeast Asia, which is why the plant likes tropical conditions.
Put the Alocasia in a place where it gets direct sunlight for at least five hours at a temperature between 18 and 22 °C.
The soil of the Elephant Ear should always be slightly moist, but the roots shouldn’t be soaking wet. The best advice is to give small amounts of water regularly. Spray the plant with water occasionally.
Give plant nutrition twice a week during the growth period (spring-summer). During winter months, once per month is sufficient.
