History

1959

Arie Ofman, a flower grower, and Klaas van Zijverden, a business man, decide in 1959 to combine their skills and to start a flower and plant export company together. OZ Export makes its entrance in the international market.

1995

By taking over De Beijer Export, the focus distinctly shifts to the export of plants. The plant department at OZ Export becomes an independent department.

1998

Through the continuing growth of the plant department within OZ Export, the decision to export plants as an independent company is made. OZ Planten is created, under the leadership of the co-directors Henk-Willem Spaargaren and Marco van Veen.

1999

OZ Planten continues to grow, becoming the first company to relocate to the then VBA-South (now Veiling Zuid of FloraHolland).  The climate-control and conditions are much better for plant and employee alike and allows OZ Planten the room to prosper.

The OZ Group from Aalsmeer and the Van Duyn Group from Naaldwijk decide to merge to become Dutch Flower Group (DFG). Dutch Flower Group is a unique family of specialized trading companies who, together, serve the entire floral chain. We work hard to offer our customers top quality cut flowers, mixed bouquets and/or plants. Each company has its own customer focus and approach.

2006

After another growth OZ Planten was forced to relocate, this time to their own building at VBA-South, with a modern climate-controlled workspace. This state-of-the-art building permits OZ Planten to develop the optimal logistic route to serve our customers’ needs, which is still used today.

2012

OZ Planten develops into a trustworthy, professional partner for their growers and customers. To reinforce this a new logo and brand are designed. Both contribute to the Passion for Plants of all our employees at OZ Planten.
